Camping Stoves: All The Comforts Of Home
I remember the days of camping with dear old mom and dad; we would pitch our tent in the local camp grounds and get settled in for the weekend, our cooler overflowing with pop, beer, and hotdogs and a supply of doughnuts in the picnic basket to eat for breakfast each morning.
Because cooking on a campfire was not worth the effort, that store of doughnuts and hotdogs would keep us fed for the entire weekend. To a child, it first seems great, but after a while, the fun of cooking the hotdog over a fire while mosquitoes eat you alive wears off. And by the last day of camping, the breakfast doughnuts are no longer fresh. Even the most finicky eater dreams of a plate of hot bacon and eggs.
The RV's that you see on the road these days are definitely a different breed than their predecessors, showcasing full kitchens and DVD players, not to mention air conditioning and full beds. With the amenities available today, camping no longer means having to rough it, unless that's what you're looking to do.
You can still enjoy life's comforts and sleep soundly, even when tent camping. You don't need an expensive RV to be comfortable in the woods. Including an air mattresses and a camp stove make sure that you wake up without a back ache eat like a king.
Camping stoves have come a long way and now come in various sizes, and styles. Camping stoves are making camp ground cooking just as easy as it is at home. When I pull into my camp ground these days my cooler is stocked with steaks, potatoes, hamburger, corn, onions, and any other item that could be cooked at home.
One of my camping stoves has a grill and two burners, grills a steak to perfection and is portable and makes my life a lot easier when at the campground trying to feed a picky group of kids, although they do still love to put the wieners on the end of a stick and hold them over the fire until they char broiled, a nice hamburger or a few chicken nuggets still makes for an easier weekend.
I fondly recall the long days at the campground with my family. We would set up our tent at the local campgrounds and settle into our wilderness routine. A cooler completely packed with beer, pop, and junk food would last us all weekend. Cooking wieners on sticks over an open fire is still a favorite camping activity for kids. For adults, using camping stoves that make mealtime easier for campers is a good idea. Of the many types of camp stove available, one of my favorites has a grill and two burners. It's portable, and grills a steak perfectly and the kids can still char broil their dogs.
